최근에 읽은 어떤 이론에 의하면 가난한 사람은 가난한 상태로 계속 살아가기 마련인데 그 이유가 항상 좋은 가격을 찾는 등 현명한 소비를 함으로써 자신의 생활을 자신의 소득에 맞추려는 데에 집중하기 때문이고 그런 반면 부자가 되는 사람들은 그냥 일단 비싼 것들을 사놓는 대신 추구하는 생활을 유지하기 위해 돈을 많이 벌 수 있는 방법을 찾는 데에 집중을 한다는 것이야. 우리가 성장하기 위해서는 한계를 극복해야 된다는 것을 생각하면 사실 꽤 일리 있는 얘기야. 돈과 부를 놓고 말하자면 생각해야 될 것이 훨씬 많겠지만 난 이런 식으로는 한번도 생각을 해본적이 없어. 꽤 흥미로운 관점인 것 같아.

I recently read about a theory that says poor people tend to stay poor because we're focused on adjusting our lifestyles to fit our income by always looking for better deals and generally trying to spend wisely, whereas people who become rich are often the ones who just go ahead and buy expensive things and instead focus on figuring out how to make more money to sustain their desired lifestyles. When you consider that the way we grow is by pushing our limits, this theory actually makes a lot of sense. Now, I'm sure that there's a lot more to consider when it comes to money and wealth but I never really thought of it this way and I thought it was a very interesting perspective.
